STUDIO POLICIES & PROCEDURES:

  • Parents/guardians are welcome to bring their dancers into the studio lobby. Parents/guardians of Beginners and up are not permitted past the lobby as the hallways will be busy with dancers getting ready for class.

  • Parents/guardians are asked to kindly wait in their cars while class is in session if they are staying on site during class.

  • Tots parents/guardians are welcome to bring their dancers into the hallway to get ready for class, and then can drop them off at their studio before departing.

  • Dancers are asked to place dance bags and other belongings in the cubbies in the hallway between Studio 1 and Studio 2. Only water bottles are permitted to go into the dance studio with the dancers. Chairs should be kept clear of any items.

  • We kindly ask that no street shoes be worn to dance class in Studio 1 & Studio 2.

  • Dancers may enter the studio up to 15 minutes prior to class, but must remain in the hallway or lobby while waiting for their class. Teachers will instruct dancers when they may enter into Studio 1 & Studio 2 for class.

  • If anyone is exhibiting signs of sickness, they will be asked to wear a mask or not attend class for the health and safety of our PSID community.

DANCER DRESS CODE:

  • Dancers who are participating in soft shoe & hard shoe classes that run September - June are required to wear the following items in the studio for their classes:

    • Females/dancers who identify as Female: Black leotard, shorts, poodle socks, soft shoes/hard shoes.

    • Males/dancers who identify as Male: T-shirt or tank top, shorts, black socks, black jazz shoes.

  • Hair must be pulled off the dancer’s face and secured in a ponytail or bun. For shorter hair, we ask that the hair be pulled back half up/half down.

  • In colder months, dancers are permitted to wear sweatpants/sweatshirts for warmup and stretch.

  • Dancers who are in violation of the dress code will receive one (1) warning per quarter. If an additional occurrence of the dress code violation happen, dancers may be asked to not participate in class or contact a parent to bring them a change of clothes.

  • PSID will host shoe ordering/try on dates throughout the year. If you are unable to attend them, you will be responsible for purchasing shoes on your own.

  • Soft shoes and hard shoes may only be purchased from approved vendors and are not to be purchased at any other locations, as many places sell shoes that look like Irish shoes, but are in fact not.

  • Adults class dancers are welcome to dance in anything they are comfortable in.

    DANCE SHOES/DANCE BAGS:

  • Dancers must have correct footwear for class: soft shoes, hard shoes and poodle socks (females)/black socks (males). If dancers are unable to dance in appropriate shoes for medical reasons, we kindly ask you send in a doctors note at least 48 hours prior to class so we are aware and can alert the teacher.

  • PSID will host shoe ordering/try on dates throughout the year. If you are unable to attend them, you will be responsible for purchasing shoes on your own. If a dancer grows out of shoes or needs new ones, please ask the office about ordering before purchasing on your own as we may be placing an order soon.

  • Soft shoes and hard shoes may only be purchased from approved vendors and are not to be purchased at any other locations, as many places sell shoes that look like Irish shoes, but are in fact not. If a dancer arrives with improper footwear, a note will be sent home in regards to them and proper footwear must be worn the next time in the studio.

  • All dance bags, jackets and non-dance shoes must be placed in the appropriate cubbies/shelves in the hallways between Studios 1 & 2.

    INSIDE THE DANCE STUDIO:

  • PSID has two (2) studio spaces - Studio 1 and Studio 2. Dance bags, jackets, cell phones, electronic devices and non-dance shoes must remain outside of the dance studios and be placed in the cubbies. Only water is permitted to enter the studio with the dancer.

  • Cell phone usage is only permitted in the lobby area, and is not permitted to be used in the hallway between Studios 1 & 2.

  • Hand washing is strongly encouraged prior to class. If deemed necessary due to a dancer blowing their nose, touching their face, etc., dancers may be asked to wash their hands again throughout class.

  • All teachers, assistant teachers and helpers will wash their hands prior to class starting and throughout class if necessary.

  • Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the studio for dancers to use. Dancers are welcome to bring their own hand sanitizers with them.

  • All classes will be 45-55 minutes in length.

  • All shared spaces are cleaned regularly throughout the entire dance year.

  • If a dancer wears a mask to class they will be permitted to take a mask drop if they require one and may do so outside the studio on the sidewalk. Dancers must ask permission prior to going outside.

MISC.

  • Dancers should bring their own water bottles to the studio. We do not sell water inside the studio.

  • No food is permitted inside the studio unless approved by Ms. Sara.

  • If dancers need to bring food inside the studio, we kindly ask it be peanut and tree nut free to due severe allergies within the studio.
